2. Background and Need
India is a country of 1.4 billion people, but sports participation and physical fitness levels are critically low. Despite global achievements, most citizens lack access to basic sports facilities, and youth health is declining due to sedentary lifestyles.

  • India ranks below 60th globally in sports participation (UN Data)

  • Only 35 percent of schools have proper playgrounds

  • Obesity among Indian youth increased by 30 percent in the last decade
